A huge thank you to all of our amazing parents, teachers, staff, volunteers, and Sonora families who helped make this year’s Cinco de Mayo Festival such a fun and memorable event! From selling food and running games to helping behind the scenes, our teachers and staff truly went above and beyond—and we are so grateful for all of the support. 💛
We would also like to give a special shoutout to the legendary Candy Bandit, who continues to be one of Sonora’s greatest treasures… whoever they may be. 🍬✨
Not only were we able to raise money to support our school, but even more importantly, we got to spend time together as a community and enjoy a really great day with our Sonora family. The silent auction was packed with awesome items this year (those sports extras were definitely a hit 👀), and we already know a few favorites are here to stay.

Sonora’s Cinco de Mayo Festival
Saturday, May 2 | 12–3 PM | Sonora Elementary
Get ready for one of Sonora’s most exciting events of the year! Our annual Cinco de Mayo Festival is a vibrant afternoon filled with music, culture, food, and community fun for the whole family.
The school will transform into a festive celebration featuring authentic Mexican food, games, entertainment, and our popular silent auction. We’re especially excited to welcome traditional Folklórico dancers, along with a brand new watermelon eating contest 🍉—get ready for some messy, hilarious fun you won’t want to miss!
And of course, we’re bringing back a fan favorite—the cake walk 🍰! Think of it like a raffle, but with cake. Kids love it, adults love it… honestly, everyone just loves cake.
This event is all about bringing our Sonora families together—whether you’re here to enjoy great food, cheer on your friends, or just soak in the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.
